Guidelines for Third Party Mentions

Yoga Alliance is happy to support the promotion of other yoga organizations’ events and work when it serves to educate our members and furthers our mission to promote and support the integrity and diversity of the teaching of yoga. Yoga Alliance may elect to mention these events from other organizations in its newsletter or social media posts.
Request and Review Process
To submit a request to have your event or work included in an email newsletter or social media post, please send your request to communications@wpstg.yogaalliance.org for review, including a brief introduction to the event or work and a hyperlink to a website where we can learn more. We will review your request and let you know within one week (5 business days) if we will mention your event or work in an upcoming newsletter or social media post.
Yoga Alliance will review requests and consider:
- Relevance to our community of yoga teachers, schools and studios
- Percent of our community that would find the article of value or interest
- Space on editorial calendar and balance with other promotional messages.
Yoga Alliance does not typically post information promoting (or defaming):
- Trainings, workshops, retreats or intensives from any studio, school, facility or institution
- Local or regional events or classes
- Particular styles or lineages of yoga,
- Products or services from a company that is not an approved partner
- Individual yoga teachers
- Personal blogs
The following parameters apply:
- No more than three mentions per year will be given to any single organization (unless you have a Partnership Agreement; these guidelines are for non-partner organizations).
- Content and images must be provided by the third party, according to the guidelines, timelines and specifications given by Yoga Alliance.
